This Sunday’s messages provide contrasts in a life without compassion and one that is very compassionate in the Parables of the Rich Man & Lazarus and the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Throughout Christian history these parables have provided valuable insights into what Christ expects of his followers and the value compassion has in out world. We are still trying to be a compassionate people in a rather harsh and unforgiving world. We see people asking for compassion everywhere and how we respond has implications that are sometimes unseen. In Luke 6:38 we are reminded of an eternal truth, “Give and it will be given to you.” These stories and scriptures play throughout our life in many different ways.
