As Jesus’ ministry begins, the ministry of John the Baptist draws to a close. No one recognized the importance of Jesus’ mission and ministry more than John the Baptist, and he encouraged his disciples to follow Jesus. After baptizing Jesus, John reveals the whole purpose of Jesus’ coming is to “take away the sin of the world.” We then see how Jesus goes about it, and what it entails. Their implication for HIS followers is immediate and continues to this day. However, before HIS ministry begins, Jesus is led into the wilderness to be tempted. We know that Jesus overcame the temptations, but would he have done anything wrong if he had succumbed to one of them? We look into the mystery of HIS coming and temptations on Sunday.
