Jesus meets the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4. Their conversation is one of the longest recorded in the Gospels. Her life was in shambles. She was desperate for something new and different, salvation. She was searching for it, but didn’t expect it to happen when Jesus asked her for a drink of water. Throughout the conversation, Jesus “resets” or saves the woman. What he did and changed has been part of the Christian experience for centuries and is still a key to our faith. We still fail, at times, to take advantage of the freedom Jesus gave the woman.
