Relationships are at the heart of our life. We have good ones and difficult ones, but we cannot survive without relationships, even if they are only casual acquaintances. In the Bible, the core relationship upon which life is built is between a man and a woman. Marriage has remained the central relationship and building block for families and communities for generations. Yet today we are seeing new relational paradigms emerge, along with very different family dynamics. Jesus’ teaching in Mark raises some difficult questions about relationships, but the truth is hidden in terminology. He was very intent on pro-tecting relationships and his lessons can help us strengthen any relationship.
