We begin our Second Sunday of Advent with an extended prelude by Gil Garcia and the Touch of Jazz Quartet, bringing a selection of classical Christmas tunes. They begin playing at 9:10. Our meditations help us understand and reflect on the journeys of faith for which the ancients were commended. Their faith was probably very different from the faith of those around them, because they were willing to step out and do what they believed GOD was calling for them to do. Faith is much more than a set of beliefs about God. Mary’s faith emerges as she begins a life long journey of faith, begin-ning with the angel Gabriel’s message all the way to watching Jesus die on the cross. Did she know all the twists and turns this journey would have? Faith is a risky business, not a comfortable pew. Sunday we examine Mary’s path and where it led her.
